Ctrl+Alt+S brings the window back from the tray. Ctrl+Alt+X cancels the timer, or a warning from a saved schedule, from any program.
Before anything happens you get a countdown with Postpone 10 min, Cancel and Do it now. In idle mode, moving the mouse stops it.
Every timer, postpone, cancel and run is written to a daily log, with the reason it was cancelled. A History window shows it newest first.
Close the window and it keeps counting down. The tray icon shows the time left, and its menu starts a quick shutdown in 15 minutes up to 3 hours.
One 130 KB exe, no installer, no account. The app never calls home and keeps its settings in your own AppData folder. The phone remote is off until you turn it on.

Choose Shut down, pick the In option, press the 1 h button and click Start. The countdown appears in the window, in the title bar and in the tray icon tooltip, so you can hide the window and still see the time left.
Choose the At option, set the time, pick Daily or Weekdays and click Start. The app saves it as a schedule in Windows Task Scheduler.
You can keep as many schedules as you like. Open Schedules to give each one its own action, time and days. They run even when the app is closed, as long as you are signed in to Windows.
Yes. Click Cancel, use the tray menu, or press Ctrl+Alt+X from anywhere. The final warning also has a Postpone 10 min button and a Cancel button.
Saved schedules stay in place until you turn them off or delete them.
Yes. Open Remote in the app, tick Allow remote control from my phone and press Apply. The app shows an address such as http://192.168.1.20:8765/ - open it in your phone browser and enter the PIN.
You can then start, cancel and postpone a timer, lock the PC, turn the screen off, send it to sleep and switch saved schedules on or off.
It is off by default and needs a PIN of at least 6 characters. After 5 wrong PINs an address is locked for 15 minutes, and every remote action is written to the log.
Shut down and restart always go through a timer, so you can cancel them, and the warning still appears on the PC. Never forward the port on your router.
Yes, with a private network such as Tailscale. Install it on the PC and the phone, then open the PC Tailscale address with the same port in your phone browser.
The PC must be on, awake and running the app. A sleeping or switched-off PC cannot be reached.
While the app is running, Ctrl+Alt+S opens its window and Ctrl+Alt+X cancels the running timer or any warning from a saved schedule. Both work from any program.
If another program already uses a combination, the app tells you and writes it to the log. You can switch hotkeys off with one checkbox.
Yes. Add the apps under Close apps first, for example chrome.exe or steam.exe. One minute before a shutdown, restart or sign out, each app gets a normal close request, the same as clicking the X button.
Chrome restores its tabs and games get a chance to save. Apps that ask to save still show their prompt, and with Force-close off Windows may wait for them.
The app watches the total download speed of your PC. When it stays below the limit you set (200 KB/s by default) for the number of minutes you choose (3 by default), it starts the countdown.
It measures all network traffic, not one program. To wait for a single program instead, use When program closes.
The app counts the time since your last mouse or keyboard input. When it reaches the limit you set, the warning opens, and any mouse movement or key press during the warning stops it. Watching a video does not count as input.
Logs are saved in a logs folder next to the exe, one file per day. If that folder is not writable, the app uses %APPDATA%\xcodecpack\shutdowntimer\logs instead.
The History window shows the newest entries first, and logs older than 90 days are removed automatically.
No installer is needed. Download the single exe and run it from any folder, including a USB stick. Administrator rights are normally not required, although Task Scheduler can ask for them on locked-down PCs.
It needs the .NET Framework 4, which is built into Windows 10 and 11. Settings are saved in %APPDATA%\xcodecpack\shutdowntimer.
Hibernate needs hibernation to be enabled in Windows. If it is off, open an administrator Command Prompt and run powercfg /hibernate on. Sleep works on any PC that supports it.
